News about the Mercury Cougar from a reader: “This is from the Aug. 97 issue of Car & Driver. On pages 125 and 126, there are rumors of the Cougar returning (it will be built on the Contour/Mystique platform). There is one drawing of the new Cougar (pg. 126 ) and it is a two-door. Maybe another possibility for Ford to use in Nascar?”, Jayski note, I would think the Contour/Mystique platform would be too small for NASCAR(7-18-97)
