From the Unofficial Terry Labonte Fan Club Newsletter: “For all of you wondering what happened between Terry Labonte and Action Performance Products (makers of diecasts) that caused Terry to withdraw licensing from Action and sign exclusive with Revell…..word is that Action and MAC tools put together a 3 car champs set of diecasts that included Terry’s Suzuka Japan car, a John Force Castrol funny car and a Kenny Bernstein Budweiser top fuel dragster. Terry didn’t and Kellogg’s didn’t want their product packaged with a beer product as they felt it was bad pairing for kids to see (beer and cereal). Well, action went ahead with the release in spite of wishes from Kellogg’s and Terry…..so Kellogg’s and Terry withdrew rights to produce collectibles from Action. At last someone who will not sell out for the dollar and stand up for their products and for kids”(7-18-97)
