NASCAR has taken 1/4 inch of spoiler from the Fords for Atlanta and beyond. Ford will have 4 3/4″ spoiler and a 5″ airdam clearance. Chevy stays at 5″ and 5″ and Pontiac stay at 5.375″. Thunderbird spoilers will be lowered to 4 1/2″ from 4 3/4″. The spoiler heights will be in effect for all WC races except at Daytona and Talladega. NASCAR will continue to evaluate the changes. After the wind tunnel tests on Monday we’ll see. Benny Parsons on RPM2Nite speculated that there may be different rules for each type track(3-2-98)
