“We walked up on a Robert Yates mechanic with a file in his hand as he worked on the #28 Texaco Taurus. He was filing off the spoiler to a 4.5″ height. Curious, we asked why he was going to 4.5″ when NASCAR mandates a 4.75” spoiler he just smiled. When we asked if that was the “new” rule the smile got a bit wider and he joked, “for today at least.”(GoRacing)(3-12-98)
