UPDATE: “Rumors are spreading that NASCAR found a spring operated mechanism on the trunk lid of one of the cars they took to the wind tunnel. The device reportedly could be locked out for inspection but then released to allow air pressure to push the trunk down, removing more of the spoiler from the air steam. If this is in fact the case we will all hear about it soon when NASCAR publicly clobbers the individual with an impressive fine.”(Tom Hintz – Thinkin’ Racing)(3-15-98) – I hear that this was just a rumor and did not happen and that all the cars taken to the wind tunnel were legal(3-21-98)
