Daytona under the lights

Most of the Pepsi 400 weekend at Daytona Beach, Fla., will take place under the lights, Daytona International Speedway officials announced Monday. Qualifying for the July 4 Pepsi 400 has been rescheduled to Thursday, July 2 at 8:15pm Qualifying was originally scheduled for the afternoon of July 3. Just as the race was moved from its traditional Saturday morning start to Saturday night at the request of fans, so has the Bud Pole Qualifying. Also, 1 1/2 hours of `drafting’ practice will be held under the lights July 3. A three-hour practice for the 40th Pepsi 400 will begin at 3 p.m. July 2.(That’s Racin’)(4-13-98)
