The R.J. Reynolds, has initiated the T. Wayne Robertson Memorial Fund that will support non-profit organizations in and out of racing. The fund is named for the 13-year head of RJR’s Sports Marketing Enterprises, who was killed four months ago in a Louisiana boating accident. The NASCAR Winston Cup Preview, held every January prior to the start of the NASCAR Winston Cup season in Winston-Salem, NC, will be one of the sources of contributions to the fund. Cliff Pennell, president of Sports Marketing Enterprises, also announced Friday that the Preview has been renamed the T. Wayne Robertson NASCAR Winston Cup Preview.(NASCAR Online)(5-15-98)
