this weeks Winston Cup Scene reports that is negotiating to sell the #98 team with a group that includes #58 car owner Scott Barbour, NASCAR great Donnie Allison and South Carolina businessman Bill Hammond. Yarborough hopes to have the deal completed by Jan 16th(this Sunday). For the progression of this story see my #98 Team News and Links page — UPDATE: Barbour is not part of the group buying the #98 but is talking with the group about buying the #58 team, which is not defunct but idle, the idea is for the #98 and #58 to be a two car team(1-14-2000) — UPDATE 2: Hut Stricklin will test the #98 Ford at Daytona in the mandatory test session on Thursday and Friday. No announcement or decision has been made about a new buyer or if thr team will attempt the Daytona 500(NOL)(1-20-2000)
