NASCAR Busch Series driver Bobby Hamilton, Jr. proved father doesnt always know best during round seven of the Wendys Summer Shootout Tuesday night at Lowes Motor Speedway. The second-generation Tennessee racer topped his Winston Cup racing father, Bobby, in the NASCAR Grudge Match, but the record books will show the victory came with an assist. After splitting victory honors in the first two, two-lap races on the quarter-mile frontstretch oval, the elder Hamilton spun his son in turn two on the opening lap of the third and final race. Hamilton waited for his son to recover from the spin and then chased him to the checkered flag in the Winston Cup-style convertibles(LMS PR)(7-26-2000)
