No Ford for the #7 in 2000 UPDATE Bodine/Brewer?:

Ultra Motorsports has decided not to proceed with plans to change manufacturers before the conclusion of the season. The team, which fields the #7 Chevys for Michael Waltrip, had planned to change to Fords beginning with the Oct. 15 Winston 500 at Talladega and has already built four Fords to make the change. The combination of a driver change – current driver Michael Waltrip is moving to DEI next season – and new rules for the Talladega race made it necessary to make the manufacturer change at the start of the 2001 season(That’s Racin’) UPDATE: Ford officials say they expect (#7)car owner Jim Smith to be on the Ford team next season. While Smith’s driver is up in the air, Tim Brewer, once one of the tour’s top crew chiefs, could be coming back as general manager for the team. Geoffrey Bodine is one of the men under consideration for the ride; Bodine and Brewer have worked together several times over the years(PitNow)(10-2-2000)
