New Innovative Motorsports COO

Christopher Joseph Lencheski has been named chief operating officer of Innovative Motorsports. IMI is part of a triad of companies owned or controlled by George deBidart that includes Winston-Salem, N.C.-based The Source International (TSI) and Charlotte-based Innovative Hospitality, Inc. Among the responsibilities involved in his new role, Lencheski, who has retained an interest in IMI, is charged with combining the three business units and expanding the footprint of IMI in both the NASCAR Busch and Winston Cup series, as well as to other racing series. “Chris and I have known each other for years, and we have discussed getting together for quite some time,” said deBidart, whose Lowes Motor Speedway-based IMI company currently campaigns driver Kenny Wallace on the NASCAR Busch Series in the #48 Goulds Pump Chevy. IMI, founded in 1998, has campaigned the #30 and #48 BGN cars for drivers Chad Little, Hermie Sadler, Andy Santerre and, currently, Wallace. Prior to accepting his new position, Lencheski most recently was president of Southern California-based marketing communications company MFP, which also involved managing directorship of commercial operations during the inaugural (2000) season of the Mo Nunn Racing team on the CART FedEx Championship Series. MFP was founded by former Campbell and Company chairman and CEO Rod Campbell.(Innovative Motorsports PR)(6-14-2001)
