It’s the first time he’s ever won a race when starting from the pole after 26 previous unsuccessful tries. Gordon has now finished in the top eight 13 times in 17 Pocono starts. Jarrett and Mark Martin have now finished in the top five in 11 of the past 12 Pocono races. Gordon has led 610 of the 800 laps in the past three races.
