DW and Wendy’s UPDATE and Newman: Darrell Waltrip and Dave Thomas are back together. DW and Wendy’s founder Dave Thomas are in Charlotte today and tomorrow filming another round of national Wendy’s commercials. Joining them in at least one commercial is NASCAR rising star, Ryan Newman. Look for these new series of commercials to air nationally in a few months. Waltrip and Thomas filmed a set of wildly popular commericals last year too that aired in the Super Bowl and the World Series(6-26-2001) UPDATE: Winston Cup rookie Ryan Newman(#02) has filmed his first national television commercial, a spot for Wendy’s with three-time NASCAR champion Darrell Waltrip and Wendy’s founder Dave Thomas .It airs the first week of October(Indianapolis Star)(8-5-2001) (8-4-2001)
