Stewart/Schrader/Petree to run an ARCA race:

Stewart/Schrader/Petree to run an ARCA race: Larry Clement of Fort Dodge will provide a stock car for Winston Cup driver Tony Stewart to race in an ARCA Re/Max Series event Sept. 3 in DuQuoin, IL. Clement, who’s leading the ARCA points standings this season with driver Frank Kimmel, will field a car for Stewart in the Southern Illinois 100 on the one-mile dirt track at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds. Clement also has secured a deal to compete in three Winston Cup races later this season with Kimmel. The team, which features several Iowans on the crew and is co-sponsored by the Clive-based National Pork Board, will race Oct. 7 at Charlotte, Oct. 14 at Martinsville, Va., and Nov. 18 at Atlanta. Clement said the plan to put Stewart in one of his cars came from Winston Cup driver Ken Schrader. The car Stewart will drive, a Ford Taurus with a Roush engine, is one Kimmel has driven earlier this year. Ken Schrader and Andy Petree, who owns Winston Cup cars driven by Joe Nemechek and Bobby Hamilton, also have entered the DuQuoin race. Schrader will drive his own car; Petree will drive a car from his own stable(Des Moines Register)(8-7-2001)
