As Kevin Harvick attempts to win three races this weekend at Richmond, he will have a familiar face along for the ride. Sonic, America’s Drive-In, will co-sponsor Harvick’s entry in Thursday night’s CTS race. Sonic is currently an associate sponsor of Harvick’s Cup and BGN rides fielded by Richard Childress Racing. The truck entry is owned by Harvick. Harvick is currently the only driver running both a full BGN and Cup schedule. This event marks the first time Harvick will compete in a Winston Cup, Busch and Craftsman Truck race within the same weekend. Sonic originally signed on as a major associate sponsor of Richard Childress Racing and Dale Earnhardt in February. Since then, Sonic has remained as an associate sponsor on the #29 GM Goodwrench Service Plus Chevrolet driven by Harvick in the Winston Cup Series. Earlier this season, the company expanded its relationship to include an associate sponsorship of the #2 AC Delco Chevrolet. Sonic’s partnership with Harvick and Richard Childress Racing is the company’s first long-term sponsorship agreement in America’s fastest growing sport.(Threewide Racing PR)(9-6-2001)
