the Joe Ruttman site is reporting that there is a possibility of Dana not renewing their sponsorship for next year on the #18 Bobby Hamilton Racing Dodge that Joe Ruttman drive in the CTS. The site, www.joeruttman.com, is mounting a campaign to contact Dana, see the site for info on how to do this(7-24-2001) UPDATE: Bobby Hamilton Racing will continue to field a two-truck team in 2002, but needs a sponsor for Joe Ruttman’s effort for it to remain a championship contender. Ruttman’s teammate, Willy T. Ribbs, meanwhile, won’t return to Hamilton’s second team next year. Dodge plans to continue backing a minority driver, and will likely look at such candidates as Bill Lester and Preston Tutt, who have each run one event with Bobby Hamilton Racing this years. DANA, which has backed Ruttman’s team since its inception in 1999, is looking to sponsor a team running either Fords or Chevrolets, according to Hamilton, who has factory backing from Dodge.
