DW, Newman and Wendy’s UPDATE: Darrell Waltrip and Dave Thomas are back together. DW and Wendy’s founder Dave Thomas are in Charlotte today and tomorrow filming another round of national Wendy’s commercials. Joining them in at least one commercial is NASCAR rising star, Ryan Newman. Look for these new series of commercials to air nationally in a few months. Waltrip and Thomas filmed a set of wildly popular commericals last year too that aired in the Super Bowl and the World Series(6-26-2001) UPDATE: Starting this month Wendys is running a commercial that features Ryan Newman, Darrell Waltrip and Wendys founder Dave Thomas. The commercial is scheduled to run on national television and cable networks specifically during televised NASCAR events. Newman appears in his ALLTEL racing uniform with an actual #02 ALLTEL Ford out of the Penske Racing stables.(Tom Roberts PR)(10-8-2001)
