Atwood and Petree? or Pressley? One man [Andy] Petree has his eyes on is rookie Casey Atwood, who appears to be on the verge of being released by Ray Evernham [announcment TODAY? – see below]. Atwood – who, like Petree’s other driver, Bobby Hamilton, comes from Nashville – was thrust into the Winston Cup world perhaps a year or two too early. After all, he just turned 21. But Atwood has shown considerable promise; he won the pole at Phoenix and contended for the win.(Winston Salem Journal) AND Steve Barkdoll, APRs executive vice president/general manager, said that the team is still close to a deal, but that nothings been finalized yet.
