Sterling’s Fire Suit: Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates and Target Stores will donate $2,550 to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The fire suit Sterling Marlin wore during the Aug. 25 NASCAR Winston Cup Series’ “Sharpie 500” at Bristol Motor Speedway was auctioned off from November 21 to December 1 on Ebay (www.ebay.com). The winning bidder was Jody Gable of Cobleskill, New York. Mr. Gable owns Gable Dodge, Chrysler, Plymouth, & Jeep, Inc. and plans on displaying the fire suit in his Dodge show room. Target, which served as title sponsor of the #40 Dodge for the Aug. 25 race at Bristol, created Marlin’s fire suit especially for use in the “Sharpie 500”.(Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates PR)(12-6-2001)
