Hornaday in the #49 at Lowes: Two-Time Craftsman Truck Series Champion and veteran Winston Cup Series and current Busch Series driver, Ron Hornaday Jr., has been selected to drive the #49 BAM Racing Dodge Winston Cup car. Hornaday will take over driving duties for the next two Winston Cup races. The BAM Racing team is hoping that Hornaday can provide input to improve the team¹s performance. “I am looking forward to being a part of the BAM Racing team,” said Hornaday. “I¹m excited about the entire program and hope my experience will help the team become more competitive.” The opportunity for Hornaday to drive for BAM Racing came from discussions between team manager, Eddie Jones and current BAM Racing driver Shawna Robinson. “Hornaday is an experienced veteran driver,” said Jones. “We believe his experience in a Winston Cup car will be valuable in assessing our overall program. BAM Racing is committed to Shawna Robinson and we are searching for ways to achieve better results. Additionally we have added a new shock technician that we believe will improve our team.” The May 18th Winston Open race at Lowe¹s Motor Speedway will mark the beginning of Hornaday¹s Winston Cup driving duties, followed by the Coca Cola Family 600 at Lowe¹s Motor Speedway on May 26th.(BAM Racing PR)(5-16-2002)
