As many as 15 drivers from the Craftsman Truck Series will be at Dover Air Force Base next Thursday for a special autograph session for military families from 7:00-8:00pm/et. It is part of the MBNA Armed Forces Family NASCAR race weekend at Dover International Speedway next week. The Craftsman Truck Series will race at Dover next Friday. “This is an opportunity for us to spend a little time with the families of the troops that are out there fighting for our freedom,” said Bill Lester, driver of the No. 8 Bobby Hamilton Racing Dodge Ram. “I guess in a very small way, this is how we can thank them for everything they are doing and have done for our country.” Following the autograph session, the drivers will be treated to a tour of a C-5 Galaxy aircraft, the largest cargo airplane that the Air Force flies. A Galaxy could carry the entire 36-truck NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series field from track to track.(Delaware News Journal)(5-22-2003)
