Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Oakland A’s star pitcher Barry Zito spent about an hour-and-a-half at Infineon Raceway this morning in a photo shoot and interview for USA Today Weekend. Zito was the CY Young award winning pitcher in 2002 for the Oakland Athletics in the American League. The theme of the shoot was centered around the idea of “Is NASCAR replacing baseball as the American Pastime?” The article is expected to be published sometime in August 2003.( Insider Racing News )(6-20-2003)
