Not NASCAR but some notes from the AC indoor races:
January 11, 2004 at 12:00 AM
Saturday’s 50-lap main event was won by Joe Payne Jr. of Fair Lawn, NJ. Lou Cicconi Jr. won Friday’s feature. Attendance Saturday was about 5,500. … Curtis Truex Jr. of Stafford Township picked up a ride in the Slingshot division race, which served as an undercard to the Three-Quarter Midgets. His cousin, Martin Truex Jr., will drive for Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s team in several Nextel Cup races this year. The last qualifying race was delayed for nearly a half-hour after a car dropped fluid on the track. The maintenance crew sprayed a mixture of rosin and Pepsi-Cola syrup on the track to clean it up.(Atlantic City Press), Jayski went Friday night and had a great time, nothing like the smell of burning rubber and racing. I was quite impressed with the great job the track crews did with all the wrecks and spills.(1-11-2004)
