Mears wins the pole at California:

#41-Casey Mears and #38-Kasey Kahne on Friday unintentionally spoiled what looked to be a front row in Saturday’s Target House 300 at California Speedway featuring the drivers first and second in the NASCAR Busch Series points race. For much of Friday’s qualifying session, series leader #8-Martin Truex Jr. and rookie #5-Kyle Busch, second in points, filled the front row. As the session wound to a close, Mears jumped to the pole, knocking off Truex. Then Kahne jumped to third, separating Truex and Busch. #87-Joe Nemechek completed the top five. The pole is the second for Mears in the series. He is running a limited schedule in the #41 Dodge, sharing the ride with fellow Chip Ganassi Racing drivers Jamie McMurray and Reed Sorenson.(ThatsRacin.com). Missing the race was one driver: #57-Morgan Shepherd.
