#5-Kyle Busch turned his first NASCAR Busch Series qualifying session into a memorable one Thursday, winning the pole for Saturday’s Bashas’ Supermarkets 200 at Phoenix International Speedway with a track record lap at 133.819 mph. This is Busch’s first appearance at the track as a driver. His Hendrick Motorsports team elected not to test the track, but he did run in Thursday’s NASCAR Southwest Tour race at the track for experience. #60-Greg Biffle qualified second, #41-Jamie McMurray third, #46-Ashton Lewis Jr. fourth and #27-Johnny Sauter completed the top-five. Busch Series points leaders, #8-Martin Truex Jr. will line up ninth.(see a qualifying report at ThatsRacin.com)
