Akins Motorsports, in evaluating its performance in 2004 and looking to field two teams in 2005, is doing some internal restructuring. Changes include the recent release of Paul Andrews who served as crew chief of the #38 Great Clips team with driver Kasey Kahne. Due to the changing level of competition and the financial demands in the Busch Series, we are forced to due some restructuring which comes with the release of Paul Andrews, said Akins Motorsports owner and general manager, Doug Stringer. “Paul’s efforts and assistance have been greatly appreciated by Akins Motorsports. There will be an announcement in the near future as to who the successor will be. Akins Motorsports will continue to run the #38 Great Clips car with driving duties shared by Kahne and USAC Silver Crown talent, Tyler Walker. In addition, Akins Motorsports has added the #58 Serta Matress/Hickory Farms team with driver Brent Sherman who finished second in 2004 ARCA points.
