In a unique tune-up for Sunday’s 47th running of the Daytona 500, Michael Waltrip and Greg Biffle, two former winners at Daytona International Speedway, will put their driving skills to the test on a track of a different kind. There’ll be no restrictor plates and drafting partners to worry about, or even left turns for that matter, but there will be a catch. Waltrip and Biffle will be racing in the world’s fastest armchairs – souped-up, motorized recliners that reach a top speed of more than 40 miles per hour – down a makeshift drag strip. The event, dubbed the “Full Throttle Armchair Challenge,” celebrates the official launch of Full Throttle, a new energy drink from The Coca-Cola Company. The ‘event’ takes place Friday, February 18, 2005 at 11:00am/et at the Daytona Beach Kennel Club Parking Lot, 2201 W. International Speedway Boulevard – next to Daytona Speedway.
