#97-Kurt Busch won the MBNA Mid-Race Leader Award last weekend by leading Saturday’s NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Subway Fresh 500 at halfway mark. Busch earned the $10,000 prize and then collected another $5,000 by going on to win the race. The MBNA Mid-Race Leader race-win bonus will reset to $5,000 for next week’s race at Talladega Super Speedway a result of Busch’s victory. It was the second week in-a-row, and only the second time all season that the winner of the MBNA Mid-Race Leader Award went on to win the race as #16-Greg Biffle did the same at Texas, since the award hadn’t been won in 2005, Biffle pocketed an extra #35,000 as the awrd rolls over from race-to-race.
