#04-Bobby Hamilton won the UAW-GM Ohio 250 at Mansfield Motorsports Speedway after #6-Ron Hornaday was black flagged for jumping the restart and penalized. Hornaday finished 11th. The race ended with a geen-white-checkered finish, extending to 254 laps when #13-Hines and #18-Montgomery wrecked in turn 4 on lap 245. #16-Sprague finished 2nd after making a run at Hamilton on the G-W-C, followed by #15-Hmiel, #50-Kluever and #08-Rich Bickle. The points leader going into the event, #1-Ted Musgrave, finished 12th, and lost the points lead to Hamilton.
