#0-Mike Bliss won the pole for the Nextel Open with an unofficial track record of 189.208mph, #5-Kyle Busch is on the outside pole, followed by #41-Casey Mears, #77-Travis Kvapil and #25-Brian Vickers. Two drivers wrecked on their first lap, #11-Jason Leffler [his 2nd car of the day] and #10-Scott Riggs. Leffler will have to go to a backup car, Riggs team may be able to fix the car as just the nose was damaged.
