Johnson wins wreckfest at LMS:

#48-Jimmie Johnson passed #18-Bobby Labonte at the line by half of a car in a wild Coca-Cola 600 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway for his third straight Coca-Cola 600 win, an all-time record. The race lasted 5 hours, 13 minutes and 56 seconds [the record is 5 hours, 34 minutes, 6 seconds], had an ALL-TIME NASCAR Grand National/Winston Cup/Nextel Cup race record for cautions with 22 cautions, 18 for wrecks, 1 for an engine and 3 for debris for 103 laps. Labonte finished 2nd after started dead last when the team changed the transmission for the start of the race and was a lap down and got a lucky dog lap back in the race, followed by #99-Edwards, #19-Mayfield and #12-Newman. Nice top-10’s by #1-Martin Truex Jr. and the new 50 year-old #49-Ken Schrader who finished 9th.
