Rusty Wallaces #2 Penske Racing South Dodge will be carrying a special retro look in this weekends USG Sheetrock 400 at Chicagoland Speedway. Just tell em that black is back, chuckled Wallace when discussing his teams return to the familiar black-and-gold Miller Genuine Draft color scheme that graced his race cars from the beginning of the 1990 season through the end of the 1996 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup season. We had so much success during the years we carried that paint job and hope that itll bring us some more good luck at Chicago this weekend. The fans loved it back in the early and mid-90s and so many people remember Dale Earnhardts black #3 and my black #2 battling it down to the wire in so many races, Wallace recalled. We think the fans will really appreciate us bringing that color scheme out another time during our last call season. Wallace drove his black-and-gold #2 Miller Genuine Draft entry (a Pontiac from 1990-1993 and a Ford from 1994-1996) to an amazing 30 wins, 82 top-five finishes and 120 top-10 finishes in 179 races wearing those colors. He recorded 10 of his 36 career pole positions during that time.(Tom Roberts PR)(7-6-2005)
