The city of Troy, N.Y., has proclaimed the upcoming weekend Rusty Wallace Weekend in honor of Wallace, the 1989 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Champion and 55-race winner. Its an honor Im very proud of and I want to thank the people of Troy for remembering me this way, said Wallace, in the middle of his final Rustys Last Call behind the wheel of his Miller Lite Dodge. That area has a strong racing heritage and for them to be thinking of me during my final race at Watkins Glen this weekend is really cool. Wallace will be celebrating his 49th birthday during Sundays running of the Sirius Radio @ the Glen at Watkins Glen International. It will mark Wallaces 46th and final road course race in NASCAR competition.(Tom Roberts PR)(8-11-2005)
