why did Cope not return after the rain delay at Bristol in the #28 Ford?…..from the Derrike Cope site: Derrike started the race in 37th position and finished in 39th during the twice rain delayed race. NASCAR listed the status as No Driver, and Derrike said, “Just say that the car owner said to go ahead and leave, that they were not going to run any more laps.”(Derrike Cope site)(8-29-2005)
