Talladega Race News/Notes:

• Dale Jarrett won the UAW-FORD 500 at Talladega Superspeedway, scoring his 32nd NASCAR NEXTEL Cup victory in his 596th career start.
• Jarrett scored his first victory in 2005. His last victory came at Rockingham in February 2003, 99 races ago.
• Jarrett became the 14th different race winner in 2005.
• Jarrett has scored just six top-10 finishes in 29 races in 2005.
• Jarrett climbed from 15th to 14th in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup point standings.
• This was Jarrett’s second win at Talladega and ended a 13-race win streak held by Chevrolet at Talladega Superspeedway. He also won here in October 1998 and that was the most recent Talladega win by a Ford.
• This was Jarrett’s 28th career superspeedway victory in 425 career superspeedway races and sixth victory in a restrictor-plate race.
• The 50 lead changes in the UAW-FORD 500 were the most in a race this season.
• Tony Stewart led 11 times for 65 of the 190 laps raced, leading the most laps for the 10th time in a race this season.
• Jarrett led two times for two laps including the final lap. His last-lap pass for victory was the third in 2005. It also happened at Atlanta when Carl Edwards drove to victory over Jimmie Johnson and again at Charlotte when Johnson passed Bobby Labonte for the victory.
• Jarrett scored the fourth victory for car owner Robert Yates at Talladega Superspeedway. This was Yates’ 57th victory as a car owner.
• Kevin Harvick (10th) climbed from 12th to 11th in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup point standings.
• Rusty Wallace (25th) extended a 42-race streak of running at the finish that began at Bristol in August 2004. Wallace has scored 23 top-15 finishes in 29 races in 2005.
• J.J. Yeley led the first lap in his NASCAR NEXTEL Cup career.
• Jamie McMurray had led only one lap in 2005 coming to Talladega. He led 38 laps today, second only to Stewart who led 65.(NASCAR Statistical Services)(10-2-2005)
