Chase Pistone Plans Transition from Pro Cup to Truck Series:

Chase Pistone is shifting gears in his racing career. The 22-year-old North Carolina racer is getting ready to make the step in his racing career from the USAR Pro Cup Series to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. He will drive the #07 Metrolina Expo entry for Greenlight Racing in the October 22nd event at Martinsville Speedway. Were going to Martinsville with Bobby Dotters #07 truck. From there, if we have a good showing, hopefully NASCAR will let us go to Phoenix and from there maybe they will let us go to Homestead too to close out the year, explained Pistone. Were taking it race by race, but thats our plan for right now. Our goal is to have those three Truck races under our belt by the end of the year. Pistone started out the year making a serious statement in Pro Cup racing. He qualified on the pole position for his first ever series start at USA International Speedway and led the Rookie of the Year standings through a major portion of the 2005 season. However, a late rash of engine failures put him behind. As a result, Pistone lost a chance at the RoY title and decided to re-evaluate his racing plans.
