All four of his victories came in 2005. His last victory came at Atlanta, one race ago.
Edwards joined Jimmie Johnson as the only drivers with two Chase victories. Johnson won at Dover and Charlotte.
Edwards became the 10th different race winner in 10 races at Texas Motor Speedway.
It was Edwards first victory in two races at Texas. He finished 19th here in April.
Edwards has scored 16 top-10 finishes in 34 races in 2005.
Edwards has climbed from sixth to third in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup point standings in the last three races, now 77 points behind point leader Tony Stewart. Edwards ranked ninth in the point standings after the first race at New Hampshire.
Edwards led five times for 82 laps including the final two laps.
Edwards scored the fifth victory in 10 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup races at Texas Motor Speedway for car owner Jack Roush all by different drivers. This was Roushs 88th victory as a car owner and 14th in 34 races this season.
This is the 15th victory by a Ford in 2005. Chevrolet has 16 and Dodge has three.
Matt Kenseth led three times for 149 laps, the most laps for the third time in a race this season.
Casey Mears finished a career-best fourth for the third time. Mears also finished fourth at Watkins Glen in 2004 and here at Texas in April.
Rusty Wallace (22nd) extended a 47-race streak of running at the finish that began at Bristol in August 2004. Wallace has scored 24 top-15 finishes in 34 races in 2005.
