Kyle Busch won the Checker Auto Parts 500 presented by TECHRON at Phoenix International Raceway, scoring his second NASCAR NEXTEL Cup victory in his 41st career start.
His career-first victory came at California, 10 races ago.
Busch became the 16th different race winner in 19 races at Phoenix International Raceway.
It was Buschs first Phoenix victory in two races there. He finished eighth in April.
Busch has scored 13 top-10 finishes in 35 races in 2005.
Busch climbed from 20th to 19th in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup point standings. Busch led three times for 63 laps including the final 28 laps.
Busch scored the second victory for car owner Rick Hendrick at Phoenix International Raceway. This was Hendricks 140th victory as a car owner and 10th in 35 races this season (Johnson-4, Gordon-4 and Kyle Busch-2).
This is the 17th victory by a Chevrolet in 2005. Ford has 16 and Dodge has three.
