Greg Biffle won the FORD 400 at Homestead Miami Speedway, scoring his ninth NASCAR NEXTEL Cup victory in his 114th career start.
His last victory came at Michigan in June, 21 races ago.
Biffles 0.017 margin of victory over Mark Martin was the sixth closest finish since the advent of electronic scoring in 1993.
It was Biffles second victory in four Homestead races both in the past two races.
Biffle became the second repeat race winner at Homestead joining Tony Stewart (1999 and 2000).
Biffle scored his sixth victory in 2005, the most of all drivers.
Biffle scored 21 top-10 finishes in 36 races in 2005.
Biffle climbed from fourth to second in the final NASCAR NEXTEL Cup point standings. He had the same points as third-place Carl Edwards but secured the final second-place points position because he had more victories (six) than Edwards (four).
Biffle led twice for nine laps including the final eight.
Biffle scored the third victory for car owner Jack Roush at Homestead. It was Roushs 89th victory as a car owner and 15th in 36 races this season.
Carl Edwards led 94 laps, leading the most laps for the first time this season.
