Kurt Busch makes amends for traffic violations:

#2-Kurt Busch, cited last year by Maricopa County sheriff’s deputies for reckless driving, offers a word of advice: Dangerous driving belongs on racetracks, not public roadways. That’s the gist of a public-service announcement that Busch did Wednesday with Sheriff Joe Arpaio at the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving, south of Phoenix. The PSA is expected to air on Valley television stations in May or June. The NASCAR driver was stopped Nov. 11. He was fined $580 and ordered to perform 50 hours of community service after pleading guilty Feb. 10 to a reduced charge of speeding, a misdemeanor, and admitting responsibility for following too closely and passing in a no-passing zone. The time spent on the PSA is expected to count toward the 50 hours. Arpaio said that he was “pleasantly surprised” Wednesday “at how gracious this man was” despite the controversy.(Arizona Republic)(4-20-2006)
