#31-Jeff Burton won the Budweiser Pole for the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard at Indianapolis Motor Speedway with a speed of 182.778mph for his 3rd pole of 2006 and 5th of his career. Burton went out 2nd and only #07-Bowyer and #2-Busch came close to grabbing the pole. #07-Bowyer will start 2nd, followed by #2-Kuet Busch, #9-Kasey Kahne [went out last] and #48-JImmie Johnson. #8-Dale Earnhardt Jr. 31st. The non-top 35 teams that made the race were: #37-Skinner, #40-Stremme, #34- Chaffin, #00-Elliott, #78-Wallace, #4-Wimmer, #32- Kvapil and #60-Said. Missing the race were: #15-Menard, #55-Waltrip [said he wouldn’t buy his way in this time], #70-Sauter, #49-Lepage, #90-Leicht, #04-Hamilton Jr. and #61-Cope.
