UPDATE: Bobby Hamilton Sr. decided not to run Friday’s Truck Series season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Bobby Hamilton Jr. will continue driving duties as he’s done since his father was diagnosed with head and neck cancer early this year. The senior Hamilton originally set a goal to return for the final race but has now decided to wait and try to come back in February’s season opener in Daytona. Hamilton’s cancer is in remission but he continues to undergo treatments for a sore throat. Bobby Jr. is set to return to the Busch Series full-time next season and original plans called for his father to take back over the truck ride. A Bobby Hamilton Racing spokesperson yesterday said those plans are “indefinite.” Hamilton could not reached for comment.(Tennessean)(11-15-2006)
