Veteran racer Ken Schrader will drive for Bobby Hamilton Racing next season in the Truck Series, and Hamilton’s wife said she did not know if her husband, one of the area’s most popular and successful racers, will race next year. Asked Friday if Hamilton intends to race next year, Lori Hamilton said: “We don’t know. If he feels like it he’ll race.” Hamilton, who won the 2004 truck series championship, turned the driving duties over to his son Bobby Jr. during his months of grueling radiation and chemotherapy treatments. The senior Hamilton originally set a goal of racing in the Nov. 17 season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway, but canceled those plans. Hamilton Jr. will return to the Busch Series next season.(Tennessean)(12-9-2006)
