The NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series completed its second and final week of testing Wednesday at Daytona International Speedway. This week’s test featuring all cars which fell in the even-numbered positions in the owner’s standings as of July 12, 2006 had 36 drivers participating. ¢ Penske Racing teammates Kurt Busch and Ryan Newman each tested their Car of Tomorrow on Wednesday. Though the COT will not participate in the Daytona 500, it fared well. Busch’s COT ran the fastest lap of testing with a speed of 191.188mph. Rudd Fastest Single Car Run: ¢ 4,663 total laps were run this week. ¢ Juan Pablo Montoya ran the most laps in a given session — 70 laps in Tuesday’s afternoon session. ¢ Kurt Busch ran the most laps this week (207).(NASCAR Media)(1-17-2007)
