Chad Chaffin, 38, finds himself without a ride and wondering if the racing career he worked so hard for may be over. “I’m not giving up, but at the same time I’m not out knocking on doors, either,” Chaffin said this week. Chaffin is the owner of Southeastern Recycling in Nashville and the business is consuming more and more of his time. “It I wasn’t so busy with this, I’d be out working harder on my racing,” he said. “I’m still exploring some possibilities, and there’s a chance I’ll run a few Cup races later this season. But right now there’s nothing definite.” Chaffin thought he might run some Craftsman Truck Series races for Bobby Hamilton Racing as a backup for Ken Schrader, but so far that hasn’t developed.
