Mere hours after the checkered flag fell on the March 25 Food City 500 work began on a completely new surface at Bristol Motor Speedway. As a result, not a single race car has turned a lap at the famed half-mile oval since Kyle Busch earned the win four months ago. That all changes on Monday and Tuesday, July 23-24. Thats when Craftsman Truck Series and Busch Series drivers get their initial look at the Speedways first new surface since the original concrete was placed in 1992. Test sessions will take place Monday for trucks and Tuesday for the Busch Series as teams prepare for the OReilly 200 at BMS on Aug. 22 and the Food City 250 on Aug. 24.(BMS PR)(7-19-2007)
