Clint Bowyer’s over-the-wall crew claimed the Checkers/Rally’s Double Drive-Thru Challenge during Saturday night’s Nextel Cup race at Bristol Motor Speedway, becoming the 13th team to win the weekly competition. The #07 crew, which spent 206.320 seconds on pit lane, includes: Carey Wimbish (jackman), Dail Long (front-tire carrier), Shane Westerberg (front-tire changer), Dustin Long (rear-tire carrier), Jake Lind (rear-tire changer), Mike Morrison (gasman), Clint “Ratto” Almquist (catch can) and Troy Welty (eighth man). Bowyer’s Jack Daniels crew will be presented with an $11,000 check by Checkers/Rally’s for winning the weekly challenge. An additional $111,150 prize will be presented to the pit crew with the most wins at the completion of the 36-race Nextel Cup schedule. The #01 crew for Mark Martin leads the season-long Checkers/Rally’s Double Drive-Thru Challenge standings with four wins. To win, teams are required to finish on the lead lap while spending the least amount of time on pit road. Checkers/Rally’s is in its third season as title sponsor for the Pit Crew Challenge.
