Jeff Gordon wins Talladega last lap pass:

#24-Jeff Gordon won the UAW-Ford 500 at Talladega Superspeedway in a four lap shootout and last lap pass to win his 5th race of the season, 6th win at Talladega, 12th restrictor plate win [most all time] and 80th career win [6th all-time, 3 behind Cale Yarborough]. Gordon spent most of the day hanging around the rear of the field all day with teammate #48-Jimmie Johnson, Gordon was 34th at lap 100; 36th at 120; 36th at 140; 17th at 160; 9th at 180 and won. Johnson was 32nd at lap 100; 31st at 120; 31st at 140; 25th at 160; 15th at 180 and finished 2nd. Johnson finished 2nd, followed by #22-Blaney [best of season, ties career best at Darlington in March 2003], #11-Hamlin, #12-Newman, #25-Mears, #2-Busch, #20-Stewart, #96-Raines [1st top 10 of season, 3rd of career] and #41-Sorenson. Inspection: #41-Sorenson’s car was found to be too low in the front and the car will be evaluated bt NASCAR with any penalties to be announced Tuesday.
