There may be many years without seeing another run in The Chase like #48-Jimmie Johnson. After adjusting for the 5 extra points per win this year, Johnson beat Kurt Busch’s 2004 Chase point total by 157 points! Johnson outpointed Jeff Gordon 911-766 over the final five-race stretch. Gordon’s 1606 points, after adjusting for 10 extra win points, is the second best Chase performance in its four year history, 110 points better than Busch in 2004. Kevin Harvick fell three spots at Homestead, but still finished 35 pionts ahead of Martin Truex for 10th place and the final spot on the stage at the Waldorf. Truex and Denny Hamlin finished out of the money in the first 12-driver Chase. See the final chase stats on the Chase Stats after Homestead page.(11-28-2007)
