In 2008, SPEED will use a wide variety of hosts for The SPEED Report, the network’s signature Sunday motor sports news program, headlined by veterans Bob Varsha, Krista Voda and Leigh Diffey. The new format will begin Feb. 17 at 7pm/et, following the 50th running of the Daytona 500. In addition, the long-running Monday night Inside Nextel Cup will undergo a format change for 2008, as veteran NASCAR personality Steve Byrnes takes over hosting duties on the newly named This Week in NASCAR, set to premiere Feb. 18 at 8:00pm/et. This Week in NASCAR will move away from a Sprint Cup race re-cap and analysis show, moving into a “handoff” position between events, reviewing topical items from previous races in all three NASCAR national touring series, while also looking forward to upcoming events. Familiar faces, including Michael Waltrip, Greg Biffle and Ken Schrader will remain as regular Monday night panelists, with NASCAR crew chiefs, including two-time champ Chad Knaus also joining the show.(SPEED PR)(1-30-2008)
